CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The raid of a Mason Metropolis condo has led to a responsible plea to federal gun and drug crimes.
Andrew Earl Lofton, 47 of Mason Metropolis, was arrested after legislation enforcement mentioned it searched Lofton’s house on April 20, 2023, and located two handguns with obliterated serial numbers and a backpack hanging outdoors Lofton’s bed room window that held 22 ounce-sized luggage of methamphetamine and one other handgun.
State expenses towards Lofton had been dismissed when he was indicted in U.S. District Courtroom for the Northern District of Iowa for conspiracy to distribute a managed substance, 4 counts of possession with intent to distribute a managed substance, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Investigators say Lofton helped promote methamphetamine between January 2023 and April 2023.
Lofton has now pleaded responsible in federal courtroom to conspiracy to distribute medicine and the gun cost. No sentencing date has been set.
