COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was discovered responsible on Tuesday in federal courtroom for a drug crime, in accordance with a press launch from the Division of Justice.
Michael Hunt, 43, was discovered responsible of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute.
The discharge says that Hunt was planning to carry fentanyl from Columbia to Springfield, Missouri.
Hunt was driving a black Jeep Renegade southbound on Freeway 5 on June 12, 2022, when a Laclede County Sheriff’s deputy stopped him for a shifting violation, the discharge says. A Ok-9 sniffed out medication within the Jeep, and Hunt allegedly locked the automobile and refused to provide officers the keys, the discharge says.
The Jeep was finally unlocked by a tow firm and officers discovered a health club bag with 300 grams of fentanyl, the discharge says.
