PORT NECHES, Texas — A 35-year-old Port Neches man has been indicted on fees associated to an April 2024 hit-and-run that left a pedestrian with critical accidents.
Andrew Christopher Barnett, 35, of Port Neches, was indicted this week by a Jefferson County grand jury on a cost of “collision inflicting critical bodily harm” in connection to an incident on April 14, 2024. The cost is a 3rd diploma felony.

Barnett is accused of fleeing the scene after driving his truck by a number of entrance yards simply after 6 p.m. on a Sunday alongside the 2400 block of Earle St in Port Neches hanging a Roger Sims, 26, man who was taking out trash, in keeping with file tales.
Sims, who was taking out the trash for his fiancee’s 80-year-old grandmother, was left with a damaged jaw, backbone accidents and fractures to the higher and decrease elements of his left leg, in keeping with file tales.
Witnesses instructed police that the truck had hit Sims after which left the scene.
Surveillance video from a close-by enterprise caught the incident and confirmed Barnett’s truck and license plate, in keeping with police.
The video led officers to Barnett they usually pulled him over driving the truck, in keeping with file tales.
Police initially arrested him on visitors violations and impounded his truck after they gathered data that led them to consider he was driving the truck when it hit Sims.
Detectives questioned him and later launched him.
He admitted to them that he had been driving, in keeping with a possible trigger affidavit within the case.
After amassing extra proof within the case detectives filed the case with the district lawyer and received an arrest warrant for Barnett.
He was arrested at his job shortly thereafter.
